In Memoriam

In September 2008, we suffered the loss of a great leader and a wonderful human being. Our Founder, Robert L. “Skip” Carr, organized Cornerstone Community Bank in 1998 and served as President, Chairman of the Board, and Chief Executive Officer.

Titles alone do not convey the true measure of a man. Skip was much more than a banker. He was passionate about helping others. Skip was a very active and visible member of the community. In addition to serving as a board member for community organizations throughout Pinellas County, he generously shared his time, wisdom, and financial insight with customers and associates. He was a mentor and a friend, a devoted Christian and family man. His guidance and his spirit will be sorely missed.

Skip left an indelible impression on the Bank, the community, and all who knew him.   Even as we mourn his passing, we celebrate his great achievements and we resolve to build on them. In the years ahead we will continue to draw inspiration from Skip Carr’s lifetime of dedicated and selfless service.
